Hello from Corona! The neighborhood was named after the Corona Ash Dumps, which were large mounds of ash left over from coal burning in the early 1900s. The ash was eventually covered with soil and turned into a park, now known as Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. Corona is also home to the Louis Armstrong House Museum, which was the former home of jazz legend Louis Armstrong and his wife Lucille. The museum features exhibits on Armstrong's life and career, as well as a collection of his personal belongings.
